North London Waste Plan consultation results
The North London Waste Plan have declared their consultation period with residents to be over.
The results are summarised in a whopper of a PDF file on their site; you can look at it here.
There are several references to the Blackhorse area including this about residents opinion:
A significant number of respondents expressed specific opposition to the use of the Blackhorse Lane area for new waste facilities because of potential negative impacts on residential amenity, health and the local transport network. In addition, the development of waste facilities in this area is seen by some to be incompatible with the current and proposed future regeneration of the area.

I think we need to lobby to our councillors’ in the area regarding this issue, a waste site is couterproductive to the area’s regeneration and our families future health, and also your propery prices…
If you read the results of the consultation there is a lot of opposition locally and lots of people questioning why Waltham Forest has been picked to have the highest proportion of waste sites.
If we keep quiet they’ll put the waste site up alongside the rows of tower blocks they’re planning , to make our area more desirable for us !
Please lobby your councillors

I agree, S Allen, and BAG is keeping up the communication with the council. To anybody concerned about this issue: it’s a good idea to get involved with our Waste and Recycling group. Their details are here: http://www.blackhorseactiongroup.org.uk/index.php/working-groups/waste-recycling/
